ZARYADYE PARK, MOSCOW
Project context
An extraordinary opportunity arose to create an urban park in the centre of Moscow, the first public park to be built in the city since 1958. The site is adjacent to the World Heritage Site of the Kremlin and Red Square.
The proposed park had potential to bring people together in the heart of Moscow and connect to the history of this site as one of the oldest parts of the city.
Role
I led the development of sections of the project brief for the international architectural competition for Zaryadye Park, working on behalf of Barker Langham. I managed a team of specialist consultants, led a research trip to Moscow and facilitated the process to coordinate the team's contributions.
Impact
An international architectural competition was held using the brief. Diller Scofidio + Renfro won the project and developed the design for the park, which opened in Autumn 2017.
