UPPÅKRA ARCHAEOLOGICAL CENTRE, SWEDEN
Project context
The Stiftelsen Foundation, together with its stakeholders within the University of Lund and Region Skåne, sought consultants to undertake a Feasibility Study into the development of an archaeological centre at Uppåkra, a world-class archaeological site in Southern Sweden.
As the antecedent of the medieval town of Lund, Uppåkra provides a unique opportunity to investigate and tell the story of the birth, flourishing and death of a city without having to excavate under its streets.
Role
I led a successful tender response from exhibition design firm Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA) and managed the delivery of the Feasibility Study. In doing so I facilitated a series of workshops with the project board, managed the work of business planning and market research specialists and wrote the final study.
Impact
The Feasibility Study helped the Stiftelsen Foundation to assess options for the location and features of the centre, and to raise funds for its development.
